INTRODUCTION

This Library of Cyrillic fonts was originally created between 1992 and 1994 based on scanning Latin letters from existing font catalogs, and then expanded to include a support table of letters used in Russian and Ukrainian in ASCII format (used in MS Windows 3.1 released in 1992).

The idea of creating this font library belongs to the famous Russian-Israeli journalist and blogger Anton Nosik. Special thanks go to designer Alexander Shekhtman for his professional recommendations and assistance in editing the Cyrillic letters to match the graphic nature of the scanned fonts.
Originally some of the created fonts were presented at the GeoCities.COM platform.

In 2023-2024 the Library was reviewed, and fonts were significantly redesigned due to features provided by the High-Logic FontCreator software and the kernings for the letters were reedited. Due to redesigning process, all fonts were transformed to support the UNICODE standard (presented here) for the Avar, Azerbaijani, Bashkir, Belarussian, Bosnian, Bulgarian, Buryat, Chuvash, Dungan, Gagauz, Ingush, Kalmyk, Kazakh, Komi (Permyak & Udmurt), Kyrgyz, Macedonian, Medow Mari, Moldavian, Mongolian, Ossetian, Romanian, Rusyn, Russian, Serbian, Tatar, Tajik, Turkmen, Turkish, Uyghur, Ukrainian, Uzbek and other same glif-structure languages.
A list of Cyrillic-based languages is presented at site Omniglot.com
Due to several previously only Cyrillic-based languages currently supporting both Latin and Cyrillic tables (such as Moldavian, Turkmen etc) – the developed fonts support the same table for Romanian, Turkish etc.

As well the tables of the fonts were extended to support the designation of fractions and the following monetary units: bitcoin, dollar, euro, hryvnia, manat, pound sterling, ruble, tugrik, tenge and yen.

Three new groups of fonts were added due to the redesigning process: Hollow Style, Shield Style and Shadow Style.
